A Person-Based Adaptive Traffic Signal Control Method with Cooperative Transit Signal Priority

چکیده

Real-time traffic signal control has long been a critical way to improve congestion. Transit Signal Priority (TSP) is seen as cost-effective reduce travel time variability. Most of the previous studies develop real-time systems on vehicle basis, which unable efficiently provide preferential treatment transit vehicles. Person-based systems, transform delay computation units from passenger, have proposed try address this limitation. However, their models, optimizing plan cycle-by-cycle, cannot rapidly respond variations. This study proposes Adaptive method with Cooperative priority (PACT). In PACT, not only do Road-Side Units (RSUs) perform optimization, but also On-Board (OBUs) in-vehicle speed advisory delays. The interaction between RSU and OBU conducted second-by-second, high adaptability Experiments are performed based real data via simulation platform SUMO. results indicate that PACT can delays both bus passengers auto at signalized intersection. Compared preoptimized plans, show each passenger vehicles experiences 33%–70% decreases in delays, 3%–29% 80%–98% when occupancy weight factor relatively large, showing potential extending performing preemption.

Real-Time Traffic Signal Intelligent Control with Transit-Priority

This paper proposes a real-time traffic signal intelligent control method with transit-priority. The objective of this control method is to reduce the delays of passengers and special vehicles. Transit-priority is divided into the special transit-priority which is an absolute priority and the normal transit-priority which is a relative priority. When the detectors in the red phase detect specia...

Integrated Transit Priority and Rail/Emergency Preemption in Real-Time Traffic Adaptive Signal Control

The article discusses a strategy, referred to as Categorized Arrivals-based Phase Reoptimization at Intersections (CAPRI), which integrates transit signal priority and rail/emergency preemption within a dynamic programming-based real-time traffic adaptive signal control system. The system takes as input sensor data, from detectors, automatic vehicle locators, transponders, etc., for realtime pr...

Heuristic Algorithm for Priority Traffic Signal Control

consider the multiple requests for priority in a way that is not disruptive, or inefficient, to other traffic. Other factors, such as occupancy and schedule adherence, are important considerations that can be used to manage which priority requests should be served, but it is still likely that multiple transit vehicles will desire priority service. The approach presented in this paper is an inte...

Reinforcement Learning For Adaptive Traffic Signal Control

By 2050, two-thirds of the world’s 9.6 billion people will live in urban areas [2]. In many cities, opportunities to expand urban road networks are limited, so existing roads will need to more efficiently accommodate higher volumes of traffic. Consequently, there is a pressing need for technologically viable, low-cost solutions that can work with existing infrastructure to help alleviate increa...
